"Lakshya"
We work for all 365 days a year!!! That’s what a senior member of Team Lakshya said, and my first response was “What the crap???. Nobody works for 365 days a year”. Few days later I was a member of Team Lakshya and it took me no time to find out that what our seniors said was in fact very true. This blog has very well portrayed what Lakshya is to all PGDIEians. Let me share with you my first experiences as a member of Team Lakshya.
My first assignment began with calling the industry people and inviting them to present their projects at the ‘On the Job Achievers’ Contest ‘. My first call was a flop, and my second, and then the third. I don’t exactly remember the number but it must have been close to fifty and I had a zero percent success rate. Forget it I said and moved on to my next assignments. Lakshya was especially torturing for the junior team because they were trying to get themselves placed for ‘summers’ during the day and working for the event during the night. Add frustration and heartbreak of not cracking the company to all this and what you get is a deadly combination. Around 10 days before Lakshya I started on my next assignment of getting the flex’s printed. For most part of these 10 days I was at Andheri with the printer shop owner pushing him continuously to get the job done quickly. I became such a familiar face in that area that all the bhel puri and pani puri walas used to give me a smile when I visited their joint ( I was their most regular customer). I also became something of a small office away from the headquarters of Lakshya. Whenever somebody from PGDIE 39 and 38 had any ‘Lakshya’ work they were directed to the Andheri officeJ. Frankly speaking, I really don’t remember much of how I got the things done on time, but somehow I did. Of all the weird experiences I had, one of the event stands out. I had to wake up the person who did the flex printing and get one last flex printed (which we had missed out earlier) at 2 in the night. I am sure of all the hearts Lakshya has touched, he will remember Lakshya for quite some time.
Lakshya 09 was a grand success. The biggest lesson which Lakshya taught me was ‘teamwork’. No matter who you are and what you are capable of, you need a team to succeed. Team PGDIE worked their hearts out to make Lakshya a grand success
